DEAN & DELUCA, a specialty market that carries products from around the globe, has chosen Educate! as their Shot of Charity nonprofit in stores throughout New York City. Visitors to DEAN & DELUCA can incorporate the act of giving into their daily habit by asking their barista to “Add a Shot of Charity.” They will then add a 25 cent donation to the customer’s purchase—100% of which goes to Educate!. 

Shot of Charity is a nonprofit platform that enables consumers to incorporate the act of giving with their daily purchases. The platform unites socially conscious coffee shops, consumers, and distinctive charities to address global issues by raising funds for small, high-impact charities.

Small, lesser-known nonprofits are chosen because the donations go further than at a larger organization. Charities are selected based on their mission, objectives, cost structure, effectiveness and geographic location. 

 

DEAN & DELUCA partnered with a Shot of Charity in June 2010. The featured organizations rotate on a regular basis. Stop by a store and share your good “cents” by adding a “Shot of Charity” to your order!
