Uwera Trifine

Uwera Trifine is in her fourth year of secondary school at ACEJ School in Gitarama, Rwanda.
Uwera excels in school, where she consistently places near the top in her class. Uwera enjoys her science classes and is quickly learning how to speak English (Rwanda’s national language is French), a skill she is very proud of. She has also been the striker on the girl’s soccer team at ACEJ School. Upon completing her education, she hopes to become a doctor.
Uwera was born in a rural farming village near Gitarama, Rwanda. When Educate!’s scholarship gave her a chance to go to school, her entire village came out to thank Educate! by presenting the founder, Eric Glustrom (pictured below with Uwera), basket after basket of their crops. Uwera’s village, which resembles a large family, understood what an incredible opportunity Educate! had given one of their daughters, and they all wanted to express their gratitude.
