Who We Are

🌍 Africa has the world’s youngest and fastest-growing population. By 2035, the continent is poised to contribute more young people to the global workforce each year than the rest of the world combined.

At Educate!, we're obsessed with impact. We leverage iterative learning to build highly scalable youth employment solutions aimed at unlocking the potential of the world’s youngest continent. Educate! prepares youth in Africa to learn, earn and thrive in today’s economy by:

  1. Introducing an employment-focused school subject into secondary and

  2. Delivering livelihood boot camps for out-of-school youth, with a focus on marginalized rural girls and young women.

To date, more than 600,000 youth have been meaningfully impacted across Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, and Tanzania, and along the way, Educate! has become the largest youth employment and skills provider in East Africa.

Educate! is a team of over 300 largely African staff and 300 volunteer youth mentors. We prioritize building an engaging, fulfilling and growth oriented work environment. 50% of our top 30 leaders have been with us for over 5 years, 10+ alumni have started their own organizations, and 6 current or former team members were Acumen Fund East Africa fellows.

We have been backed by top foundations such as Imaginable Futures, Livelihood Impact Fund, Jack Dorsey’s #startsmall, CIFF, and Echidna Giving. Educate! won a 2018 Klaus J. Jacobs Prize and a 2015 WISE Award, and has been highlighted by the World Bank’s S4YE's Impact Portfolio, an Al Jazeera documentary,BBC, The Brookings Institution as one of 14 case studies on scaling education, and the Gates Foundation as a Goalkeepers Accelerator. Position Overview

As a Business Studies Mentor, you will support teachers to deliver high-quality entrepreneurship education that equips students with practical, job-creation skills. You will coach teachers, monitor program implementation, facilitate training, and build strong partnerships with schools and district education stakeholders. Through regular school visits, data-driven support, and effective coordination, you will help ensure successful program delivery and improved student outcomes. 

We are looking for 95 Business Studies Mentors to join our team across Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Manyara, Geita, Tabora, Simiyu, and Kagera. Successful candidates will be based in one of these regions and work closely with schools and local education stakeholders to support program implementation.

What you will do as a Business Studies Mentor 🌟

  • Teacher Support — Conduct classroom and project observations and coach teachers through the MEWAKA for Secondary structure. Strengthen project-based learning and assessment. Coordinate with Program Officers to support teachers who need the most help.

  • Program Monitoring & Reporting — Collect and report data on teacher training, program progress, and school and teacher  performance. Conduct physical and virtual end-of-term monitoring visits across all program schools in your district.

  • Relationship Management — Build and maintain strong relationships with schools and the district. Keep administrators informed through termly plans and reports, and align with Head Teachers and Academic Masters on implementation.

  • Teacher Training & Facilitation: Facilitate experiential teacher training sessions, including district training, Single Lesson Practices, and other professional training activities. 

  • Program Management & Logistics: Coordinate teacher training events, school exhibitions, and district competitions. Prepare materials and communicate with teachers, school admins, ward and district staff.

  • Tanzanian citizen, 18+ years old.

  • Residents of — or willing to be based in these regions:  Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Manyara, Geita, Tabora, Simiyu and Kagera. Successful candidates will be deployed within these regions.

  • Recent graduate or holder of a Bachelor's Degree (Education, Business Education or related field preferred).

  • Holder of original academic and professional certificates, with two referees.

  • Passion for mentoring, coaching, and youth social entrepreneurship.

  • Good moral conduct and strong community reputation.

  • Fluent in Swahili and English (spoken and written).

  • Comfortable using digital tools — smartphones, WhatsApp, and basic data reporting.

  • Step 1: Submit your CV

  • Step 2: Business Mentorship Challenge (On-site)

    Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a hands-on business mentorship challenge on-site and receive immediate feedback from our selection committee.

  • Step 3: Two-Week Intensive Induction and 1 week for Internship

    Successful candidates will undergo a three-week induction training to equip them for programme delivery.

  • Step 4: Final Selection & Deployment

    Final candidates are selected from Induction and deployed to their assigned districts by the end of October.
