Churchill Had One. Now So Do You.

Jeremy Utley opens this video with a scene that’s hard to forget: Winston Churchill dictating speeches from the bathtub. His assistant is in the other room, door closed, trying to keep up as Churchill yells edits through the steam.

Odd image, sure — but Utley’s point is solid: Churchill had an assistant who understood his voice, context, and intent. Fortunately, we don’t have to be the Prime Minister to have an assistant like this today. We all now have access to — through AI.

In this 13-minute talk, Utley, a Stanford professor, discusses how outperformers treat AI like a teammate. He argues, “shifting your orientation from tool to teammate changes everything.”

In a study across the U.S. and Europe, those who produced more creative results weren’t more technical. They just treated AI differently.

Do not Ask AI, Let It Ask You.

Unlike Excel or PowerPoint, AI can actually teach you how to use itself — if you ask.

Hey, you’re an AI expert. I’d love your help figuring out where I can best leverage AI in my life.

It sounds simple — and it is.
