Updated Communication Standards and Norms

In this video, Boris launches Educate!’s updated communication standards and norms as part of a 6 month experiment to test them out.

We will start with Directors, Heads, Managers and Specialists and then assess roll out to the rest of the org.

The video discusses the importance of communication standards and norms in the organization, emphasizing the need to manage communication overload and improve productivity. In it, Boris  proposes a new approach to managing notifications, encouraging the team to experiment with these new norms and to use their judgment in applying them. The new communication norms and standards were also discussed, with Boris emphasizing the importance of using phone calls for urgent matters, Whatsapp for quick messages, and email for deeper background or contacts.

Next steps:

  • All Directors, Heads, Managers and Specialists to adopt the new communication norms, including checking messages every 2-3 hours and turning off non-essential notifications.

  • All Directors, Heads, Managers and Specialists to use phone calls for urgent matters instead of relying solely on messaging.

  • Boris to send out a survey in the future to gather feedback on the implementation of the new communication standards.
