September 2024 All Hands Call

We started this All Hands Call with a moment of silence in honor of Rebecca Cheptegei, the Ugandan runner and Olympian who was tragically killed by her former boyfriend last week. Rebecca’s legacy reminds us of the importance of infusing gender equity throughout our work. I would also like to shine a light on the at least 21 boys who tragically lost their lives in a school fire in central Kenya last week. I hope our collective grief over both of these tragedies compels us to continue to advocate for a world where all people can thrive in safety and dignity.

The rest of the call focused on our Insurgent Mentality and the importance of challenging the status quo in innovation, including experimenting with generative AI. We also heard updates about Project-Based Assessment in Rwanda.

Finally, we celebrated colleagues who demonstrate our cultural tenet “Exceed Expectations” and addressed a handful of Ask Boris Anything questions.
